Prioress General

Mother Assumpta Long, O.P. is the Prioress General and one of the co-founders of the Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist. Having been formed as a response to Blessed Pope John Paul II’s request for a “new evangelization,” the 16-year old order has already grown to over 115 sisters teaching in twelve schools in seven dioceses. Mother Assumpta holds a S.T.L. in Sacred Theology from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome and assisted John Cardinal O’Connor with the formation of the Sisters of Life in New York.
